Cmdr. Travis Dvorak is the executive officer of the future USS Kansas City (LCS 22). He enlisted in the Navy as an Electronics Technician in 1997 and completed the Nuclear Power training pipeline. Upon graduation from the University of Arizona (BSEE) in 2002, he was commissioned via Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.

In his 22-year career, he completed five deployments aboard USS Curts (FFG 38), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Ashore, he earned a Master of Science degree in Astronautical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School; served as the executive officer of the Commander Naval Air Forces Nuclear Power Mobile Training Team; and served as the curriculum director for the Surface and Mine Warfare Development Center in Point Loma, California.
